A Cause Close to Home
In November 2021, after much searching and uncertainty, our beloved Emarie (Sarah & Clinton Greathouse’s youngest daughter) was diagnosed with a rare genetic mutation, CACNA1A. This mutation can be terrifying, capable of causing a range of severe and potentially irreversible symptoms. Emarie first presented with episodic seizures and episodic ataxia, highlighting the unpredictable and serious nature of the condition. To combat this, we have partnered with the parent-led, non-profit CACNA1A Foundation, dedicated to funding research for treatments and a cure for those affected by CACNA1A variations.
