While New Mexico earned distinction as the first state to enact a medical cannabis law, the process of applying has developed rather slowly. You still need to submit your application in person. You can’t apply online. To qualify for a medical marijuana card, patients are required to be aged 18 years old or over and obtain a physician’s certificate. For those below the age of 18 or adults 18+ who need a caregiver due to their condition, a designated caregiver (over the age of 18) can apply on their behalf.
Find Relief with Medical Cannabis
New Mexico includes medical marijuana reciprocity. Anyone with a valid medical marijuana identification card from another state is permitted to purchase cannabis from Pecos Valley Production. An MMIC allows for 230 units over a rolling 3-month span. A unit differs depending on the product, making the calculations a bit challenging. For dried flower, one unit equals one gram. Approximately 8 ounces of dried flower adds up to 230 units. For edibles, tinctures, and topicals, one unit equals 200 mg.
